A new solo exhibition brought to Kochi by the Dresden State Art Collections, Germany,
as part of the collaborative celebration "Germany and India 2011-2012: Infinite Opportunities".

Organised by the Staatliche Kunstsammlungen Dresden in collaboration with
the Kochi Biennale Foundation, with the support of the Department of Cultural Affairs,
Government of Kerala.

Inaugurated by
Prof. K. V. Thomas, Hon'ble Minister of State for Agriculture, Consumer
Affairs, Food & Public Distribution Government of India

On an evening presided over by
Hon'ble Mayor, Mr. Tony Chammani

Eberhard Havekost is one of the world's most important artists of his generation. He was born in Dresden in 1967 and studied painting at the renowned Dresden Kunstakademie (Art Academy) from 1991 until 1996. For more than ten years now, his works have won international acclaim at numerous solo and group exhibitions. Major museums and important private collections (e.g. Tate Modern, MOCA L.A., Essl Museum, the Frieder Burda Collection and many more) have purchased his works. In 2010 he was appointed a Professor at the celebrated Kunsthochschule in Düsseldorf.
