ARATHI H.K. completed her BFA from College of Fine Arts, CKP and MFA from Chitrakala Institute of Advanced Studies, CKP both in Painting. Her solo shows were "SRUSHTI", at Jain International Residential School, Kanakpura, Bangalore in 2000 and A Collaborative show "VENTURING 2 GETHER" at Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath, Bangalore in 2003. She has been part of several group shows like All India Fine Arts Exhibition, Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath, Bangalore (1995); International Art Exhibition of Stamps & Gift box by "SAHAMAT" on 50th year of Indian Independence at New Delhi (1998); 49th National Exhibition of Art, Lalith Kala Academy, New Delhi (2006); 10th Southern Region Art Exhibition by Camel Art Foundation at Kochin (2008); "The Artists' Word", curated by Dr Veena Shekar at Chitrakala Parishath, Bangalore (2009); She has also participated in a number of camps and workshops. Arathi has been awarded with 39th Annual Award for Painting by Karnataka Lalitkala Academy, Bangalore in 2010; "Exposition 98", Annual Award, Chitrakala Institute of Advanced Studies, Bangalore in 1998; Nagarathnamma Memorial Scholarship, Bangalore in 1996; State Lalitkala Academy Annual Scholarship during 1993-94. She has served as HOD for art at Presidency School, Bangalore; Jain Vidyaniketan School, Kanakapur. She has been a resource person for several organizations and art awareness programmes. Presently working at Srishti School of Art, Design and Technology, Bangalore.
MANTAPPA G. KULKARNI completed his BFA in Painting and MFA in Printmaking both from College of Fine Arts, CKP. His solo shows are "SRUSHTI" an Exhibition of Paintings, Sculptures, Graphic Prints, Digital Prints and Installation at Jain International Residential School, Kanakapura, Bangalore in 2000 and "VENTURING 2 GETHER", a collaborative show at Chitrakala Parishath, Bangalore in 2003. He was part of a number of group shows including Annual Exhibition, Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath, Bangalore (1992); 8th Southern Region Art Exhibition, Camel Art Foundation at Chennai (2006); 49TH National Exhibition of Art, Lalit Kala Academy, New Delhi (2006); "The Artists' Word", curated by Dr Veena Shekar at Chitrakala Parishath, Bangalore (2009); State Lalit Kala Academy Art Exhibition, Bangalore (2010). He has been part several camps and workshops; research projects and documentation. He served as a HOD for art in Jain International Residential School, Bangalore and as a visiting faculty for art in Visual Art Department, Bangalore University; College of Fine Arts, CKP; Don Bosco Institute of Technology, Bangalore; Srishti School of Art, Design and Technology, Bangalore. He was also invited as a jury member for many educational institutions in Bangalore. At present he is one of the Directors for Sameeksha - Art, Research, and Media, Bangalore.
Anil Kumar H.A is an art critic, art historian, curator of contemporary visual arts and art pedagogician, born and brought up in Bangalore. He is an art writer, writing about Modern and Contemporary Indian art in general and that of art of Karnataka in particular, since 1990s. He was engaged in art journalism for two decades, regularly contributing art reviews to popular Bangalore-based newspapers like Indian Express, Times of India, Deccan Herald, Kannada Prabha, Prajavani, Vaarapatrike. He is a recipient of Charles Wallace India Trust Award, (2004-2005) to study partial M.A in the department of Curating Contemporary Art, Royal College of Art in London (September 2004- April 2005). He is also a recipient of Unesco-Aschberg fellowship as a part of which he was an artist-in-residency at HIAP (Helsinki International Artist-in-residency Programme, in 2004. He taught as a Senior Grade Lecturer in the Dept. of Architecture, Bangalore Institute of Technology, Bangalore (1996-2006). Currently he teaches (since 2006) as a Senior Grade Lecturer in the Department of Art History, College of Fine Arts, Bangalore. Anil Kumar has been writing about contemporary Indian art since 1992 in English and Kannada. He has taught aesthetics, philosophy and culture of visual arts in College of Fine Arts, Chitrakala Parishath, Bangalore; Chamarajendra Academy of Visual Arts, Mysore; Ken school of Arts, Bangalore and Ideal Fine Arts Society, Gulbarga. He has created awareness in visual culture amongst the rural population by regularly delivering art appreciation lectures.
