Galli Magazine presents the Karkhana Photojournalism Workshop, a unique experience at providing real field experience to photographers. The first edition of the workshop will be set up in Kokrajhar in Lower Assam area of India's North East between the 7th and 13th of January, 2013.
The workshop, meant for photographers willing to take their story telling technique to a newer more serious level, will be taught by Srinivas Kuruganti, Vivek Singh and Harsha Vadlamani. Any photographer with less than five years of professional experience (there's no age limit) and with a well demonstrated interest in visual storytelling can attend the workshop. We are limited to 14 students of which two will be on a full scholarship.
Selected work produced during the workshop will be published on Galli Magazine. Students are also assisted in pitching their stories to newspapers and magazines.
The fees is INR 20,000 per student, inclusive of accommodation on twin-sharing basis. Two full scholarships, covering tuition fee and accommodation, are made available to young photographers under 27 (or having less than five years of professional experience) from the following Indian states- Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura.
