Fwd: Please Support A.R.T. in 2013

Please consider a year-end donation towards Art Resources Transfer. Your support is needed now more than ever!

To make a donation, please follow this secure link or simply mail a check to A.R.T., 526 W 26th St. #614, New York NY 10001.

On behalf of the staff and Board of Directors of A.R.T., thank you for your support.

Happy Holidays and Happy New Year!

This year has been especially significant for the Distribution to Underserved Communities Library Program as we celebrated the distribution of its 300,000th free art book to a public library. To commemorate this benchmark John Baldessari generously produced a wonderful fund-raising edition from his current Double Play series. Remaining prints and other editions are available for purchase here.

In 2012, the D.U.C. donated 30,700 books valued at $1,035,665 to 840 of the country's neediest public schools and libraries. That is, an average of over $1,200 worth of free new art books were distributed to each participating public institution. This is an all around record-breaking achievement for the program, in terms of the number of books distributed, their dollar value, and the number of libraries served. No other existing organization offers a service comparable, neither in breadth nor vision, to the D.U.C.! In preparation for 2013, the D.U.C. has already collected donations of thousands of great new books from both new and returning publishers. Your support will help us cover the cost of shipping these books to the many public libraries that have come to rely on the D.U.C. for its free books.

A.R.T. Press continues to publish artist-to-artist conversations as well as project-focused books such as our highly acclaimed (FC) Two Cabins by JB, recently selected by Lynne Cook as a highlight of the year in Artforum's Best of 2012. In 2013, we look forward to publishing at least two more volumes in the Between Artists series: William E. Jones in conversation with Thom Andersen and Sam Lewitt in conversation with R. H. Quaytman!

Please consider a year-end donation towards A.R.T.'s programs. Your contribution will help us continue to ensure a broader access to the arts through independent publishing and innovative community based distribution. All donations are tax-deductible and no gift is too small!
