A presentation by Aastha Chauhan

Aastha Chauhan specialized in sculpture both for her B.F.A, completed at the Government College of Art in Chandigarh, and her M.F.A. at New Delhi College of Art. She works with socially engaged art projects. She has worked in the neighborhood of Khirkee for the past decade; initially as the leader of the Community Arts program at the KHOJ studios located in Khirkee and later as an independent practitioner. She is also interested in micro broadcasting and works closely with 90.4MHz Henvalvani Community Radio.
She will share some of her initial engagements in the neighborhood of Khirkee Extension, the relationships that grew out of these engagements and over time the collaborations that they facilitated.

This event is part of FICA Homepage 2014, a 6-week programme featuring exhibitions and projects facilitated by FICA, and an exciting line-up of talks and workshops focused on young artists, curators and art educators. As the title suggests the exhibition brings to a single site an array of art events and shows all focusing on key areas of FICA's work in the arts that includes support, art education and outreach.
