Gasworks is pleased to invite you to the Open Studio weekend on 11-13 December, with a special preview night on Thursday, 10 December.

Open Studio is a unique opportunity to gain insight into the working processes of three international contemporary artists, see work in progress and discuss their approach and ideas.

Current participants of the International Residency Programme at Gasworks are Allard van Hoorn (The Netherlands), Marco Lampis (Italy) and Katarina Šević (Hungary). For three months they have been working at Gasworks alongside London based artists. Concluding their residencies, the artists will open their studios to the public.

Using architecture, music, dance, sculpture, installation and writing, Allard van Hoorn's interventions in the public space investigate our understanding of the urban terrains we pass through and inhabit.

Marco Lampis' work explores how we experience sound or place and questions why such products as noise or dust become separated and in turn, disregarded.

Working across media, Katarina Šević looks at ways in which everyday items represent social phenomena and political events. The artist often re-appropriates historical texts and objects and produces fictive scenarios of the future.
