Jerwood Talks

As part of the INSCRIPTION exhibition a series of Monday evening talks will take place at 6pm.

18 January 2010     FLUX - Ceramics has become an endangered subject within art education, whilst at the same time this medium is enjoying a renaissance in contemporary art. This discussion explores the nature of these challenges to the discipline in education and the traditional professional worlds, and the diminishing boundaries between design, applied arts and fine art. We are delighted to announce the speakers are Roger Law (ceramicist and creator of the iconic Spitting Image), Charlotte Hodes (artist) and Felicity Aylieff (ceramicist and sculptor).

1 February 2010    Collage to Montage  A film by Susan Steinberg. Emmy award-winning New York documentary filmmaker Steinberg, has followed Charlott Hodes' working practice for the 18 months leading up to the exhibition, documenting both the production of the ceramic pieces and the creation of large scale papercuts. Following the film Susan and Charlotte will answer questions.

Jerwood Talks are FREE, however booking is essential and space is limited.  Please contact inscription@parkerharris.co.uk or telephone 01372 462190 to book or further information. www.jerwoodvisualarts.org
