Curated by Amanda Game and Anita Taylor as part of the Jerwood Visual Arts Encounters series, INSCRIPTION brings together the work of artists David Connearn, Philip Eglin and Charlotte Hodes and includes drawing, ceramics and evidence of their working processes.

Jerwood Talks

As part of the INSCRIPTION exhibition a series of Monday evening talks will take place at 6pm at the Jerwood Space.

1 February  Collage to Montage  A film by Susan Steinberg. Emmy award-winning New York documentary filmmaker Steinberg, has followed Charlotte Hodes' working practice for the 18 months leading up to the exhibition, documenting both the production of the ceramic pieces and the creation of large scale papercuts. Following the film Susan and Charlotte will answer questions.

8 February   Embodied Thinking   A panel discussion with artists whose work deals with embodiment as subject and content through a drawn/making practice. The artists, Annie Cattrell, Juliet Haysom and Claude Heath, as well as INSCRIPTION's curator, Amanda Game will take part in the discussion which will be chaired by, writer and art historian, Anna Moszynska.

15 February  Tracing thought: working drawings - realising intention A panel discussion focused on the role and value of drawing as a methodology for the generation and realisation of creative practices. The panel will include artists for whom drawing plays a key role in their practice.
