Dear narendra ,

I want you to be part of 18th Street's relay team in the new and improved LA Marathon, Stadium to the Sea, 26.2 mile race.
Why? Last year a intrepid team of 18th Street artists and friends participated and raised over $6,000 for our programs in less than one month.
It made a real difference in off-setting the economic challenges we faced last year. This year the race has a new route that begins at Dodger Stadium and ends in our back yard - at the Santa Monica Pier! The course hits all the classic LA spots - (Nicole -name a few here). So we have a vision of recruiting 60+ artists and friends to run, walk or skip in the marathon this year as one big relay team, while helping to support a very worthy nonprofit art center.
We need you on our team. If you are a serious runner - great. If you are anything but a runner - great. We are going to make it work for everyone. This is about having a really fun day with all of LA and raising $500 bucks from your network of friends for 18th Street. I promise you will have fun on our team before/during/and after the race. And I promise that asking your buddies to sponsor you will be super easy and you will be surprised at your success.

It will be a new way to see LA. Come run with us!

Warm regards,
Jan Williamson

P.S.
Think of all the free events that you and your friends have participated in over the years at 18th Street, as an artist or friend of the artist. You know that we work hard to give professional support to the many artists we work with. The 18th Street marathon relay team is a way for you continue feeding your artist community. The sponsorships from your friends will go directly into supporting artist stipends, performances, residencies, and event production costs.
We have a lot of great things lined up for our team to enjoy, and bananas are... Well, here is the link to join us:

This year 18th Street will have an official "Cheering & Entertainment Zone" set up along the last leg of the Marathon on San Vicente Boulevard, which will undoubtedly be legendary! Think live music, giant puppet heads and buckets o' bananas. If you aren't into the running thing, come out and help cheer for those who are.
