Nabanita Datta Guha - I exist at a time of change and transformation, of acceptance and shift, of chaos and insecurity, of growing cultural inclusion and new aesthetics. My present body of work attempts to search my role essentialised by my choosing of objects and visual, there altered situation and place, based on my reaction, sensitivity and feeling. From here I take a step forward and try to amalgamate and fuse, the intuitive and the intended ,as it allows me the space to work explicitly with colour ,line and form in an abstract as well as referential manner. It therefore enables me to retain the two dimensional reality of the painted surface. Animals bear special significance as they engage the mind, both as a reminder of popular cultural and religious motif. At the same time attempts to justify their role and space in my paintings.
Somaditya Datta - My works revolve around visuals that take elements from the colonial past particularly the motifs used as embellishments in the colonial architecture of kolkata. Here in an organic manner the motifs are introduced subjectively to imply farther meaning to the present time of inclusiveness to culture. This motifs apart from there function and location as a part of architecture is reinterpreted in the context of my situation. I cut them from there usual setting and bring certain alteration in them to become part of my work. The intention is to make an organic whole where a kind of ambivalence and scepticism occur at the time of viewing .Here the identity of the subject is also questioned as because the present time reflects certain intransigence with respect to culture and politics.
Santanu Chakraborty- I am a print maker by practice, trained in the traditional various mediums of printmaking. My works take off point always consciously remains impregnated within the rituals of printmaking practice. The narratives I build are mainly taken from my own existential space and eco-socio-political culture in which I belong. To me, my works are the visual output of inner feelings of my mind developing in a continuous process of self-analysis of the series of objective and subjective facts and happenings surround me including my family, society, artificial interventions etc.
Sujay- In my painting I present the realistic figure from nature . The figurative transformation on canvas experiments with space and colour distribution . The canvas intersect the surface as two different parts . My work explores the condition of certain class of peoples who are lack the basic needs that life ,exploring hardship in order to earn a desent living . I choose subject from everyday daily life figures . My painting has a sculpture like quality .
